08:21 AM ET 09.06 | The answer to Boston's wish list might come in the form of someone who was born in Beantown. Speculation is growing that the [Bruins] are attempting to trade for a top-pair defenseman to play alongside Zdeno Chara, and one of the more popular names mentioned is Phoenix Coyotes assistant captain Keith Yandle. Responding to a rumor over the weekend, a source close to Yandle said on Monday night that the two-time All-Star "would love to play for the Bruins." ... To acquire a player of Yandle's caliber, the Coyotes would likely want a talented young player in return from the Bruins. David Krejci, who signed a three-year $15.75 million deal that kicks in this season, carries a cap hit equal to Yandle's ($5.25 million).

Krejci is far more valuable than Yandle IMO.

I don't see the need to acquire Yandle when they have their highly touted #1 pick from last year Dougie Hamilton ready to contribute with the big club.

Would love to have him but Bostons D corps is already good...Seidenberg might not be a true #2 but he plays extremely well with Chara....Seidenbergs under-rated IMO.

Yandle for Krejci is a no brainer. Do it now before someone in Phoenix comes to their senses.

Krejci is too soft for the Bruins style of play and disappears for long stretches as well. Acquiring Yandle would give Boston the option of moving one of their other decent, but not great D-men (I'm talking about you Andrew Ference) & a prospect or two for some real talent or draft picks from a sucky team.

Seidenberg is definitely a solid stay at home defenseman. He's sturdy as hell and makes smart plays coming out of his own end, but.........................Yandle is is a serious talent. He would make Ference or maybe even Boychuck or McQuade all candidates to be moved for a more consistent scorer and Boston wouldn't lose anything on the back end.

I am bias because I hate the B's and love Yandle. But listen Boston can not get Yandle since it would put a hold on Dougie Hamilton from beginning his NHL career and Boston wants to move him up to their top6 d pairs.
So what do they do with Krejci? If you ask him use him for BOBBY RYAN. They want a 2nd line center that is clear Krejci.

Who replaces Krejci?

So, the Coyotes might lose Doan and Yandle? The league needs to cut some of the sale price of the team if that happens.

Undetermined at this point, but with a slew of solid defensemen, trading for a second line center who is good in the face-off circle should be fairly easy. Heck, they could get a solid 3rd liner and move someone up from their own 3rd line.

But who would foot the bill for such a transaction?

Agreed but, Krajci is not a d-man and help on D is what Boston needs.

The Flyers need more than Yandle to bulk up their D. Not that I would mind if they got him.
