08:03 AM ET 09.07 | As far as titles go, Aaron Kromer's isn't exactly the most desirable in football. He's the interim-interim coach of the Saints, if you really want to get technical. With [Sean Payton] suspended for the year for his role in Bountygate, and [Joe Vitt] getting the first six games for his role in it, the Saints have turned to Kromer, the team's offensive line coach, to lead their team. ... Kromer interviewed with the Indianapolis Colts last year and was scheduled to meet with the Rams, but they hired Jeff Fisher before he could interview. So he's on the doorstep. The next six games just might decide whether he goes through it. "Next man up," Saints tackle Jermon Bushrod said.

Da Guy won't get much credit if they win, he's in a no win situation!

Just like quarterbacks, there aren't enough top head coaches to go around. But, there are a lot of guys who haven't been tried yet.

And then, look at how many threads we've had already about coaches on the hot seat. Who would you offer a head coaching job to next spring? Would you bring in Norv Turner after he gets fired? Would you talk to Wade Phillips and hope the third time is the charm? Or would you roll the dice with Kromer?

I never have cared much for the recycled head coach, and there have been some real stinkers.

For Phillips it would be a 4th try (Denver, Buffalo, Dallas).

I sit corrected.

He just needs to offer the players a little extra cash incentive for big hits... oh wait....

The results aren't in yet, but Philbin who was considered a can't miss Head Coach isn't doing this guy any favors!

I'd be surprised. I expect them to go 1-15 or 2-14.

Mr. Interim you know the ropes if you win this year a head coaching job will be waiting for you in 13.

The exposure is good for the guy, no doubt. Someone will give him a chance, eventually.

Even if the Saints perform well during his tenure, is he really just a Kolb/Flynn/Cassel of the coaching ranks? Only one way to find out.
