08:04 AM ET 09.07 | How about another CJ2K? It's not like Calvin Johnson has set a 2,000-yard receiving season as his quest. If he has a Holy Grail in football, it's the Vince Lombardi Trophy. "That's what we play for," he said Thursday. ... But the topic of a 2,000-yard season was raised by a reporter. Nobody has ever achieved it. Johnson had 1,681 yards last year and felt like he left of bunch of yards on the field. So, a 2,000-yard season, is it doable? "It would be fantastic," Johnson said. "Look back at last season and there were a lot of things that we did miss. You won't ever be perfect, but it is possible." Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan shook his head at the question.

If they want a one-dimensional offense then that won't get them far.

Given Johnson's skill set coupled with NFL pass-friendly rules, he could supplant Jerry Rice as the most prolific wide receiver in league history.

Stafford is OK, but he's no Joe Montana.

African or European?

The Lions will not surprise teams this year with that dynamatic passing attack of a year ago. Johnson will have a good year if he can beat double coverage all yearlong.

Nope.......

Achieving that milestone and putting yourself in the best position to win are nonconvergent goals. They can't ignore their other weapons.

To get that many yards without disrupting the offense he would need a LOT of yards after the catch. I think teams are too aware of him to let that happen.
