08:17 AM ET 09.07 | Fred Lynn, thanks to his dream season of 1975, knows what it's like to be both a Rookie of the Year and an MVP candidate, but he feels for Mike Trout's very different reality. [In 1975,] even players didn't really know what their batting average was on a day-to-day basis. The era of big-scoreboard statistics at the ballpark, instantly updated, didn't really begin until the late 1970s. ... [On watching Trout:] "First thing I saw, he's a big kid. He's powerful, looks like a fullback. And the ball jumps off his bat. I can imagine if I weighed 220 pounds (instead of 170), what it would do if I hit the ball. He's got big hands, looks like he's an anvil salesman. ... He's a big strong kid, so he ain't gonna wear out like I did."

......really like trout....best player in baseball....not even close.....such a shame for trout angels went for the cheese, and created a future mess to clean up.....

His numbers are impressive for a rookie...I haven't seen him play yet....

Mr. moron one good season doesn't make you the best player in baseball. There is a guy in Texas, Detroit, Cincy, Milwaukee, and others who have done it year after year to make their case they are the best players in baseball instead of your boy Trout.

Living in So Cal I get to see this kid alot he definitely is Rookie of the Year and one day should win MVP but not this year... He's the real deal, speed, power, glove, strong arm - all the tools...

The Angels have been my team since I was a kid. Never really have a favorite player. Watching this kid play, Trout is my absolute favorite player. The way he plays the game, and the way he carries himself, it's hard not too like him.

Mike Trout is the reason the Angels turned things around and why the Angels are in the hunt for the playoffs. When Pujols has struggled...Mike Trout stayed consistent. When Mark Trumbo has struggled...Mike Trout stayed consistent. He is the most leathal lead off guy in all of baseball. He is phenominal both on offense and defense. Don't forget, he will probably win a Gold Glove this year as well. Mike Trout is fun to watch.

He plays every game like it's his last.

One of my buddies' dad used to sell safes and he was built like a safe...short and cube shaped but he could not steal bases at all.

I'm surprised. I would have thought he'd always be called safe.

mike trout come up to the majors to help the wrecked halos team but trout can't carried the heavy load from too many careless players as is pujols, wells, eianetta, bobby wilson, izturis, kendrick, Aybar, hunter, morales, CJ wilson, dan haren , jerome williams, santana,

best approach in the league from a rookie WHO is playing one month late than cabrera, should cabrera get the MVP? making trout lose any grip on the MVP all because he was late one month!!!

he would. he could/ he should, but just comeup a little too short in his very first year in the majors,,,,,

angels would be needing more than pitching, the offense need to step up and stop been so stingy in their role of scoring runs, no starter can win alot of games with the cheap offense in the angels team!!!

when mark trumbo has and still been strggling until today's day games, trumbo needs to back off and get himself alltogether it seems as if he falls for the same bad pitches again and again,,,,

this series against the tigers are going to be a very tough games where the halos would need more than just simple luck, both teams are in the hunt for a wildcard spot!!!
