What do the Fulham supporters think about all these Americans I wonder...

January 14, 2008  08:28 AM ET

Word,

I'm tired of seeing Americans going to EPL teams that are soon to be relegated

January 14, 2008  08:49 AM ET

I hope they aren't the primary reason!

johnson will save them?!

January 14, 2008  09:25 AM ET

No, he will NOT save Fulham but if he ever wants to play in Europe he'd better make the move now. I'd rather not see another Yank go to Fulham, but they will play him and that's what he needs.

I think a year in the Championship will be good for Fulham. If they can get a taste of success down there and win promotion back to the Prem, I think their quality of football will definitely improve.

I've heard Dempsey is getting serious looks from some bigger clubs because of his play. And is McBride coming back from his injury?

January 14, 2008  01:33 PM ET

Who the he** owns Fulham? I never knew Fayed was such an American Soccer fan.

January 14, 2008  03:29 PM ET

Man Fulham is terrible--is it a coincidence that they keep getting American soccer players?

January 14, 2008  03:50 PM ET

Fulham isn't terrible, they have had some monumental collapses, dropping at least 8-10 points in the final ten minutes of games by blowing wins. Fulham is better than their record, once they recover from the hideous blunders by Sanchez I can see them escaping, especially with Sunderland, Middlesbrough, and Wigan in the mix. Even if they are relegated, EJ is better in the Championship than he is in KC, he will make more money and get European experience.

I heard the same thing Kopper, if relegated I could see Dempsey moving on to one of the middle tier clubs, maybe an Aston Villa (owned by an American), Blackburn, Newcastle, or Everton.

January 14, 2008  04:07 PM ET

Everton is the one I've heard most loudly.

January 14, 2008  04:43 PM ET

Dempsey would be a good fit at Aston Villa, Everton, or even Spurs.

As for Johnson, I hope he joins Fulham and he enjoys being knocked around in the championship next year. It will do his ego good.

January 14, 2008  04:46 PM ET

...and I wouldn't blame the Americans for their downfall. They spend a lot of money on unproven players like David Healey and Bouazza... then paid too much money on bad players like Paul Konchesky. They should have kept Chris Coleman and allowed him to buy players like they allowed Sanchez. Getting Jimmy Bullock back will boost them a bit, but I don't see them digging out of the grave they have dug themselves.

Dempsey to everton?

although it could be happen..I think moyes is currently satisfied with his midfield. He has Arteta,Cahill,Fernandes,Neville and Carsley. Although dempsey would bring a more attacking feel to the midfield, I think everton has a lot of good strikers.

Benfica is the wat to go, not fulham!

I see a potential flop coming on.......EJ is more of a finesse type player, not physical. BPL when defenders are going to be ruthless knocking him off the ball every chance they get. I could see him fitting in well in somewhere in Italy or Spain. I think that would fit his style of play better.
