Cowboys' loss, Dolphins' gain?

06:19 AM ET 01.14 | Soon enough, the Cowboys' loss could become the Dolphins' gain. Talks with Tony Sparano, who is still viewed as Miami's leading candidate, can now officially resume. Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland met once with Sparano in Dallas on Jan. 5, but the parties have not been able to talk since then because NFL rules restricted assistants of playoff teams from interviewing after last weekend until their seasons are over. Now, with Dallas eliminated, the Dolphins are expected to bring Sparano to South Florida at some point this week, possibly as early as Wednesday.

Good day to be a Giant fan..Always is..

January 14, 2008  07:57 AM ET

Elevan, twelve, years without a playoff victory...and counting. Oh, Jerry Jones cannot be happy.

January 14, 2008  07:59 AM ET

NOT a Jint fan by any stretch of the imagination, but that loss yesterday was epic!

January 14, 2008  08:04 AM ET

It's like this fabulous dream come true..it is almost hard to believe that the long nightmare of yapping Cowboys fans is finally over.

January 14, 2008  08:12 AM ET

The NY Giants simply wanted it more. Penalties, mental errors, dropped passes, and sloppy tackling equals one and done....AGAIN!!!!!

Hat tip to the Giants.

Amen bostonrob - wish I could say the same about Patriot fans.

January 14, 2008  08:17 AM ET

I don't consider myself a sore loser. Disappointed & unhappy - yes.

January 14, 2008  08:22 AM ET

I was shocked at the outcome of the game.
Hats off to the Giants.
But man, what a SB it would have been if the Patriots and Cowboys had met in AZ. And the AFC ? wont be the same if the Pats arent playing the Colts.
Sorry to all my Cowboys and Colts fans. But hats off to the Chargers and Giants.

Let's see '06=Carrie (hot), '07=Jess (fake tatas and dumb as a TO, but hot)... My prediction for 2008: Hannah Montana! And a black eye from Billy Ray for nockin up his daughter.

January 14, 2008  08:24 AM ET

it's hardly one man nor is it a fight. The fight is over and the Cowboys and their loud mouthed fans will fade away for another year so we can enjoy the rest of the playoffs for the fans of the franchise's that actually lived up to expectations. Thanks for the congrats the surviving teams really earned their spots in the tournament.

Ferrell.. did you get my FM ?
Im probably going to spend most of the morning telling people to shut up or grow up... :-)
Sorry about the game sista.
I didnt care much for TO's hysterionics (aint no crying in Football) but I could feel Romo's pain when he was talking. He was just devastated.

January 14, 2008  08:25 AM ET

Agree KP - The networks would have liked it too (Colts/Pats)

January 14, 2008  08:25 AM ET

Hey Kp. Thanks for showing up and showing BR what class is supposed to sound like.
