Adrian Peterson to be game-time decision for Vikings

08:38 AM ET 09.08 | Now, it appears to be back to a game-time decision on whether Adrian Peterson will play on Sunday. "There's no reason to make a decision before Sunday," Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said after today's practice. "We're going to talk with him again tomorrow to see how he feels." Until Thursday, Frazier had been saying it would be a game-time decision. But Thursday came and he said the team would know Friday night or Saturday whether Peterson will play. Frazier might be sending mixed messages. More likely, it's just a case of semantics. Reporters desperately wanting to know the precise nanosecond the team will release the puffs of smoke from the Winter Park tower to signal yea or nay on AD's status. And Frazier living in the real world where it really doesn't matter if the decision is made Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night or Sunday morning, so long as kickoff remains noon on Sunday. Also, some would consider "knowing" what you're going to do and announcing your final "decision" to be two different things. The Vikings have a plan for either scenario, so it's not like they won't know what to do if the decision is made Sunday morning.

True......but theres no future for him in Minny, "they will never win during his time there". Such a shame, this kinda talent in AP wasted in that dump.........Barry Sanders all over again. I guess he'll have to be like Barry.........take the Hall as solace!

Good Moring Mick, I would sit him if he still has issues! But that's Me!

Well, if he can't go on Sunday, shouldn't there be strong consideration for changing his nickname? I mean, he certainly can't be called AD (All Day) if he can't play for the first week, right?

why is this such pressing news? this happens with every team, every game; a chance to make the other teams defense waste time preparing for someone who might not play. He will probably play in a limited role Sunday

There wouldn''t be confusion or mixed messages if you were a real reporter and asked the coach straight out, are you changing your position on this. But nooooooooo you want to sit on your arse and gleen tidbit from the web, twist em around a little so it looks like you did some work and typo it as a T&R

That's why Coachs first name looks like Let's lie.

He won't play. They're just saying this so their opponent has to game plan for Adrian Peterson.

Minnesota was debating placing Peterson on PUP, which would have locked him out of the first six weeks of the season. No team considers placing a player on PUP if there's a chance he can play in Week 1.
