10:18 AM ET 09.08 | Word has emerged -- via Mike Fleming's scoop at deadline.com -- that ICM Partners is packaging Pacino for a movie built around Joe Posnanski's book, "Paterno." Pacino, of course, would play former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno, who died in January of lung cancer. Paterno's death came a little more than two months after he was fired by Penn State in the aftermath of child sex abuse allegations against former assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, who was convicted and awaits sentencing on 45 counts of child sexual abuse. Wrote Fleming at deadline.com: "This can either be a feature film or a cable movie, because Shakespeare himself would have had trouble coming up with anything this shocking, and because the issues here still boggle the mind."

The trick will be finding someone to play Sandusky.

Pacino can play Paterno.
Danny DeVito can play Jim Delaney.
I wonder if Saban has a place in the script? If so Verne Troyer can play him.

Seriously this is a bad idea.

Carrot-Top can play McQueary

It would be nice if John Vernon (Dean Wormer) were still alive. He could play Graham Spanier.

Outstanding. I salute you.

I don't see why not. Hollywood always makes movies about stuff like this all the time.

HBO did a movie about Dr. Death and Al Pacino, who played Kevorkian from all accounts did a very good job of it.

Meh. It might be worth a buck to rent it at the Redbox.

No one will ever make a better sports movie than "Rudy". "Brian's song" comes close.

Slapshot puts all sports movies to shame because of how awesome it is. And North Dallas Forty ain't no slouch, either... speaking of being no slouch, Caddyshack is pretty decent, too!

You're damn right! I always cry when he gets his acceptance letter to ND.

I don't know about Pacino as Paterno. How about Lewis Black? Or Gilbert Gottfried?

September 8, 2012  02:58 PM ET

They'll get Carrot Top as McQueery. Then he'll be all about being Clown Shoes McQueery.

Well if ya want to go there, to this day i really enjoy watching "The Bad News Bears".
Both versions, Walter Matthau and Billy Bob Thorton who did a good remake.
But both of those are comedies.
Rudy and Brian's song really happened, at least in my mind, but as you should know by now, anything is possible in Vans mind.
GO IRISH!!! ALMOST GAME TIME!!
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
