08:48 AM ET 09.09 | One veteran Marlins baseball official, on speculation that owner Jeffrey Loria will demote executive Larry Beinfest: "Jeffrey can't blame Larry for the guys Jeffrey wanted," including John Buck and Heath Bell. "You have to look in the mirror sometimes. Jeffrey was a big George Steinbrenner fan, but Steinbrenner eventually realized he needed to let his baseball people make the decisions."

the marlins can't act as the yankees late owner, the marlins have a long way to even get to steinbrenner heels, things not always work as the marlins expected, the team do have plenty talent all around their team in their farm system is depleted with quality players, but everything has been misshandled, the fish has to bring better coaches and a better manager in the front seat then we can talk again,,,,,

You were half right Jeffrey on the old saying- built it and they will come. You are a money maker who likes the spotlight, but you better hire a good GM to run your club and you need to disappear.

Sigh. If I invested as much money in a team as the average owner, I would want to at least have a team that I found interesting, and probably pick a favorite player or two as well. But for sustained quality team play, he needs to have a GM. Ted Turner was another who learned that lesson, and has been a very successful owner since then, in both financial and baseball terms.

George is a convicted felon who ran his shipping company into receivership not once, but twice. Toss in the fact the he was a HOF caliber pehkerhed and I'd say it's a toss-up.

This man is shallow low-life. The way he conducted himself in Montreal was despicable, the Marlins are cursed as a result.
