08:02 AM ET 09.10 | This time, when opportunity knocked, Kevin Kolb was ready. When he took the field at a moment's notice, he acted like a man determined to change a perception, to right a wrong. And by leading his team to victory after very little repetitions during practice, he regained much of the currency he had lost in the locker room. "I was fortunate to have the opportunity and to get in the zone," Kolb said. "It was a pretty special. I'm not going to lie. ... to win a game in that fashion, the way the preseason went, I'll definitely enjoy (Sunday) evening and (Monday) and get back to work." For Kolb, that likely means a second chance to be a franchise quarterback, to make Arizona his permanent home.

For Arizona, that likely means another mediocre-at-best season, to make the basement of the NFC West their permanent home.

It sure won't happen this Sunday at Foxboro.

No. The Pat looked like they were cruising along in second gear and didn't even need to upshift.

I wouldn't bet on it.

The Pats new D looked pretty good. Kolb will be in for a rough day.

And by the time the Cards line up to play the 49'ers the second time, Skelton and Kolb will be fighting on the sidelines over who gets to hold the clipboard. Winner gets to hold the clipboard while the loser has to play.

Yeah. Tennessee's leading rusher was Locker, 2 carries for 11 yards. CJ2K had 11 carries for 4 yards. Yes, four yards. They certainly had Belichick's "take away their best weapon" mantra going for them.

Kolb's got all to Gain and Nothing to Lose!

That was one seriously profound statement made by the team from the city by the bay...

Very impressive.

But, weren't they playing in a city by the bay, a Green one?

The Niners showed no weaknesses. The Pack looked flat, but even with that the Niners weren't even giving them any opportunities to do anything.

not quite....he has a contract right now....the more he is on the field, the more evidence will build that suggests he shouldn't be an NFL QB.....he'd MUCH rather stay on the sidelines and have people THINK he might be a decent backup rather than get put in the spotlight and prove otherwise...

September 10, 2012  09:21 AM ET

Nope!

Next question......

He makes too much to be a clipboard holder. If Skelton comes back strong and Kolb ends up on the bench the rest of the year, they will not keep him.

Ain't that the truth... I wouldn't be surprised if he joins Skelton on the IR list... Who's the 3rd string QB on that team anyways??

Redemption in this case could mean than Kolb does not throw up all over himself on the field. So yes, it is possible.

Haven't heard of anyone ending up on IR yet.
