08:22 AM ET 09.10 | Labor discussions fizzled over the weekend, leaving little optimism a lockout might be avoided. However, several people within the New York Rangers organization expressed hope that an agreement can be reached in order for the puck to drop on time next month. "The only thing I can say is that I want us to play hockey," Rangers owner James Dolan told ESPNNewYork.com at the team's first annual charity dog walk in Riverside Park. ... "The New York Rangers camp is ready to go on the 21st. We're chomping on the bit to get going here. If they say no, we'll wait 'til they say yes," [Rangers coach John Tortorella] said. "I just hope we keep on learning that this needs to be a partnership for this league to continue to flourish."

Maybe all teams can be moved to Quebec where the lockout is illegal (so far)? Cut down on travel expenses for sure.

All we need is one more team and then. we can watch the two Quebec teams going at it and cultivating a little hatred and rivalry.

Hmmm. I like the idea. Quebec Coyotes doesn't sound that far fetched.

Seeing as their rink won't be ready till September 2015 and the fact that Jamison has actually purchased the Coyotes Doan sez his contract is just waiting for the dotting of the i's and crossing of the t's

Dolan is saying what the majority of owners and players want and that is to start the season on time.
Unfortunately it looks like Butthead and Fehr want to keep the fight going to justify their inflated salaries and egos

Why? He didn't say anything that would compromise the owners position. In fact this line; "If they say no, we'll wait 'til they say yes," seems to indicate that the ball is in the players court.

Except that the players have already said Yes. They have stated that they will play under the old CBA until a new one is signed.
