Alfredsson willing to give up season (even if it's his last)

08:24 AM ET 09.10 | More than most, Daniel Alfredsson has quite a bit riding on the outcome of a labor stoppage. Set to celebrate his 40th birthday in December, Alfredsson, who has played his entire NHL career in a Senators uniform, could probably use a little less wear and tear on the body if the season is shortened, but a cancelled campaign could be tough for him. "I don't know if it would be devastating," Alfredsson said during an interview Friday outside the Bell Sensplex. "I'm not saying I'm going to quit (playing) if there's no hockey this year. You'll have to quit some time. You don't always choose when that time comes. Preferably, you would like to, but I have no problem with the situation. I'm just a small piece of the puzzle."

It is really up to the fans to teach the Owners/Bettman/Players a lesson that this **** has to stop every 7-8 years. Baseball fans didn't come back in 1995 after they cancelled the 1994 World Series, and they have had labor peace ever since in fear of another backlash. If the NHL season doesn't start on time, fans need to boycott the games when it is finally settled and just watch them on TV. I did this in 2005, as I cancelled my season tickets (had season tickets since 1986), unfortunately most of my fellow Flyer fans came back the first night and they sold out all year. The NHL relies on gate revenue more then any other sport, so until the fans start hitting the owners in their wallets and boycott these games, they will do this crap whenever a new CBA comes up, cause they know we'll come back when its over.

We just got a 1992 6 cylinder Tempo for our youngest Daughter (124,000 original kms) , it has a cassette deck in it. As my youngest is a little metal head she and i had a great couple hours digging through my hundreds of boxed up cassettes. Her glove box is now loaded up with Zep,Sabbath,Van Halen, Ted Nugent etc etc. Deja -Vue all over the place looking in there.
