08:24 AM ET 09.11 | The lesson of Micky Arison may be on Terry Pegula's mind. The Sabres' owner, who joined Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown outside First Niagara Center to discuss his $123 million development plan for the Webster Block, had little else to say about the potential lockout or state of CBA negotiations. The league is reportedly set to deliver $1 million fines to team employees who comment, and Pegula hinted other penalties are in place. "I can't tell you anything, just that talks continue," Pegula said. "I don't want to lose draft picks." Pegula remained optimistic a lockout can be avoided. "Obviously, we all want to see some hockey played, so let's hope it doesn't happen and be positive on it," he said.

See, this is what I meant yesterday when I said The Little Jerk was going to be p/o'd at Dolan for opening his mouth and saying he wants to play. Take draft picks away for speaking your mind? The Dwarf must go now.....

No sh__it..he's trying to muzzle the league.....so you KNOW that not all teams are on board for this lock-out....IMO this is an abuse of power.

I thought the same thing....a 180 from last time, where the players weren't all together and the owners were....

LOL. While I have to laugh at the picture of folks trembling at the thought of an angry ****, I'm also aware that this stuff could not be imposed (if totally true and I ain't even sure about that) without the approval of a significant majority of the owners. The Dwarf is a mouthpiece......not the originator of these ideas.

Wonder if there is a difference between a large market team owner and a small market team owner? Dolan might be able to get away with more than Pegula.

Good point. I think Snider might have a bit more influence than his counterpart in Columbus? Maybe?

Ahhhh, Harry. You apparently have decided to take over the Flames as owner and CEO. As a member of upper management I can see now why you've been so merciless to Whale2. BTW, that really is a good pic of Lanny on the avatar! :-)
