08:19 AM ET 09.11 | Bulldogs fans have to be impressed by defensive end Jarvis Jones, a junior who many expect to see enter the draft in 2013. [Jones] had a dominant performance against Missouri this week proving why he is considered a potential top ten pick. Displaying rare first step explosiveness, a natural ability to defeat pass blocks and an excellent closing burst to the quarterback, Jones reminded us of current 49ers outside linebacker Aldon Smith. While many top pass rushers are one dimensional and only make an impact chasing quarterbacks, Jones ability to consistently get backfield penetration to blow up running plays behind the line of scrimmage and to chase them down across the field in pursuit elevates his status.

He's a DE but he's listed at 241. Can any of the UGA fans or even someone knowledgeable about the NFL opine on his size to play DE in the NFL? Isn't 241 about a normal range for an LB?
Is he tied to being the pass rushing OLB and not a DE? He's a great talent, though.

He is a perfect speed rusher. In Bama terms, he plays the Jack position. He was unblockable against UF last year.

If UGA did not switch to the 3-4 he would not be the same player.

I thought the same thing about Elvis Dumervil when he came out of Louisville. He led the NFL in sacks in 2009.

He was already a top 10 pick IMO. We recruited him hard in HS too but he wanted to go west. He's all dawg now though and is just a really great player and a good kid too.

It's also about opportunity. Dumerville slipped to the 4th round. I bet a lot of teams saw he was 5'11 so they wouldn't give him a chance.
