Sun Devils gain commitments
Arizona State's football recruiting class grew to 24 Sunday with commitments from four players, including Ryan Bass, the nation's No. 2-ranked all-purpose tailback by Rivals.com. Bass, who is 5 feet 10 and 200 pounds, switched his commitment from Arizona to ASU after a weekend visit. He is joined by his Corona (Calif.) Centennial High teammates Brandon Magee and Shelly Lyons, both linebackers. The other new commitment is defensive tackle Otis Jones of Lawndale, Calif. Letter-of-intent signing day is Feb. 6. Three of ASU's 24 commitments are junior-college players who are signed and eligible for spring practice.

Well considering Arizona State had a chance to win the Pac 10 and Arizona sucks, it makes sense to change the commitment.

Erickson will have Arizona State competing for the Pac -10 championship & then bail out for something better. History repeats itself. .... and no, ASU didn't really "compete" for the Pac 10 championship this year. They were a house of cards that fell apart as soon as they played anyone. I witnessed the Holiday Bowl debaucle where they were manhandled by a mediocre Texas team. The good news for ASU fans is that they are suddenly competitive, not just USC wannabe's.

ASU's "house of cards" may have fallen, but that's still good enough for a co-title as it currently stands.
