Reid doomed if Vick stays healthy

08:02 AM ET 09.12 | In a way, Michael Vick is both Andy Reid's meal ticket and, possibly, ticket out of town. Those of you who are eager to see [Reid] become the former head coach of the Eagles might be wise to root for [Vick] to be the picture of health this season. Because if he continues to play as poorly as he did in Sunday's 17-16 win over the Browns, he not only will shatter George Blanda's 50-year-old record for interceptions in a season (42), he'll also get Reid fired. ... Ever since he was selected by the Falcons with the first overall pick in the 2001 draft, Vick has teased people with his talent. That cannon of an arm. The catch-me-if-you-can running ability. But the cannon never has been very accurate, as evidenced by his .559 career completion percentage.

Are'nt they a dynasty ???

Soo, if Vick goes down (again) Reid's job is secure....I have to call this article pure BS.

He has a "frequent eaters" meal ticket at OCB. Buy 30, get one free.

Yeah. Vick is starting because he's the best QB on the team. When he gets it together, he can be exciting and he can win games. But when he's off, the Eagles don't fly.

By this writers logic, if they win the Superbowl then the team is going to get re-located to LA.

And Andy Reid will quit because he can't get a decent Philly cheese steak in LA, just all that crap with lettuce and avacados.

This happens in the NFL every year. A couple of good teams stink the joint up the first week of the season and everyone starts writing/saying crap on how bad they are. Real fans know that no one can start predicting who is going to be really good or really bad until after Week 6. In my opinion, Vick will be fine if he can stay healthy.

c'mon-MANN,......it's only week-1,.....and they WON !?

barely beating a crap **** team should be a real confidence booster.

As an Eagles fan, there is no doubt that Vick was horrendous on Sunday. But I usually wait til atleast week 5-6 til you can really get a handle on how everything is going to play out in the NFL. I think because starters rarely play in preseason anymore, most of them need a week or two to shake off the rust, as you can see there was alot of bad play in the NFL on the first week. If Vick is playing like this in late-October, and the Eagles get off to another slow start, then they will probably clean house after the season as Vick/Reid wont be here for 2013.

The Philadelphia Daily News should fire the clown who wrote the article and hire you instead.

Yawn, It's week 1. Talk to me at the end of the season. Nothing but fodder for the media.

September 12, 2012  09:38 AM ET

Baloney...its weak 1, every team is doomed if you check with most so called experts. The Eagle receivers need to run better routes and catch the ball, Vick made some bad throws but lets not throw him under the bus after week 1. Stafford, Weeden, and Tannehill had accuracy and timing issues in week 1 as well, calm down people.

Dumb QB. Does not take advantage of check downs. Always gunning for big plays downfield.
