Potential nail in coffin for Hard Knocks

08:03 AM ET 09.12 | Texans defensive end J.J. Watt made a case that Hard Knocks offers actionable intelligence to opponents. [Watt] delivered a potential death blow to the show on Tuesday, explaining on NBC Network's Pro Football Talk that he picked up the Dolphins' snap count by watching the show. ... And that one line could provide future coaches and G.M.'s with the ammunition they need to push back against an owner who decides he wants to be a carnival barker. Dolphins coach Joe Philbin said in June that the choice to do Hard Knocks was a football decision. Yes, it was. A bad football decision. It did nothing to help the team win. It routinely televised embarrassing and sensitive moments involving players, driving a wedge between the organization and its most important employees.

the amount of Dolphins' stories is amazing! so much wasted space for so little.

Hard Knocks should be a show that features the Jets every year, the two were made for each other...one depicts a team in turmoil and the other gets it share of "hey look at what we are doing now"

It was a dumb concept to begin with. People should be ashamed for watching that garbage.

...he picked up the Dolphins' snap count by watching the show...

Heh heh heh. And suppose this is misinformation? Every defensive player and every DC who plays Miami this season is going to watch hours of this stupid show to try to pick up that snap count. Time they could have better spent elsewhere.

Very Machiavelian. Very Belichickian.

Not sure about Hard Knocks, but there's nothing wrong with Hard Knockers.

Themselves.

What was it, 4 ints for Tannehill? You just know Joe Philben keeps looking at his cell phone, wondering if he should call David Garrard back.

What's wrong with just making a behind the scenes show? Why must they constantly pursue this expose' of everything that ever was ever? If I wanted that much reality, I'd get off the Interweb and actually get a life!

Regardless if they picked up the snap count or not it wouldn't have changed the outcome in any way...

I spent more time watching football on Sunday than all the TV I've watched the previous month.
