08:16 AM ET 09.12 | Michigan State will present Notre Dame with a new set of challenges this weekend. The Spartans have won 15 successive home games, the fourth-longest active streak in the FBS behind only LSU (19), Wisconsin (17) and Northern Illinois (15). Most of those wins have been delivered by a defense that again ranks among the nation's best statistically and figures to be tops on ND's schedule. Sophomore Everett Golson will make his third straight start at quarterback for the Irish, this time against a defense that has yet to yield an offensive touchdown. It's Kelly's intention -- but certainly not his guarantee -- that the Myrtle Beach, S.C., product will finish the start as well.

Boys, boys, boys... Besides our mutual love for a certain 19 yr old Australian hurdler, we aren't seeing things the same. Allow me to clarify.
[With appologies to possibly offended FN Domer pals] I picked MSU to win the game. Irish whisky will be flowing freely during and after the game. At first, the fine spirits will be bolstering the confidence of libating Domers, then, it will be employed to dull the sting of defeat, and finally, it will fire the memories of victories past and the faith in the righteous path to success for today's team. We ARE talking about Domers, here.

I thought the 'Stangs had something going this year. Foolishly, I picked SMU to defeat Baylor. Instead, the Ponies were ridden hard and put up wet by the Bears. The game revealed SMU weaknesses which lend themselves to exploitation by the [first half] TAMU Ovine Abusers. If the OAs fall to the Ponies, it will not resolve my doubts about SMU. It will affirm that TAMU has serious psychologoical issues [I leave it to your imaginations to extrapolate "performance anxiety" to "animal husbandry."]
