08:11 AM ET 09.13 | Good news, Golden State. Warriors fans have yet to see the guy in uniform who just might be the team's most important player, but they can take some comfort in knowing that center Andrew Bogut is on track to be in the starting lineup when the season tips off Oct. 31 in Phoenix. "Yes, we expect that," Warriors GM Bob Myers told Sporting News. "That's just me prophesizing, but all indications are that will be the case. We're hoping that he is in there for us on opening night. But if he needs two games, if the difference is waiting because he is not quite there, then we???ll wait. But we expect Bogut to play opening night." Bogut is recovering from a fractured left ankle that he suffered on Jan. 25, while still a member of the Milwaukee Bucks.

:) Definitely...I'd welcome million dollar pressure

Looks like the pressure here is nothing more than a writer needing to write an article to meet a deadline to justify receiving another paycheck from SI.

Maybe I've had my head in a book too much to realize, but remind me again why this guy is relevant? And didn't he get drafted #1 overall?

If you remember back to that horrific injury to Boguts arm you will see that he was playing at All Star level in the East. His figures were something like 16 - 12 - 3 blocks a game... Since then he played a season with a few bone chips floating around in his right elbow, then his ankle broke. Basically he has had several injuries which have held him back, the good news is that these injuries were not internal locus caused, but were from external hits (tunnelled while dunking it for the arm injury and ankle break was landing on someones foot). Medical experts all agree that they were freak injuries, so I believe he will be quite good again.
