Jeter hobbled?

08:16 AM ET 09.13 | The sight of Derek Jeter limping after trying to leg out a double-play grounder in the eighth inning against the Red Sox Wednesday night seemed to offer a parallel to how things might end in 2012 for the Yankees. He grimaced and hobbled, the bone bruise in his left ankle howling, and a team that has dealt with crippling injuries all season seemed poised to add another star to its medical charts. Turns out, though, the ankle is a problem that was only flaring up again. Jeter is likely to be in the lineup Thursday night when the Yanks try to win the series against the Red Sox at Fenway. ... "You either play or you don't," Jeter said. "I'm playing, so it's not an issue. I'll be fine."

He's had a great year, but at 38 years old this stuff is gonna happen.

It is a bad combination for the Yanks trying to get into the playoffs, older players are limping, and they can't get away from the O's.

He's always played like that...dinged up and all. He never complains, never makes excuses, respects the opponent. He's paid the price over and over again to earn the right to be called a champion.

jeter is a great competetor, he has tremendous resiliants in every at bat in every game, sadly there is too little jeter can do to help the wrecked yankees if the yanks refuse to acknowledge their level in the league as a team? they are only making things harder on themselves!!!

with their rotation weak as it is, their offense reduced to the point that no one can ignite the team??yankees are yankees but lets accepted this team is more weak and fragil than any other yankees teams in the past,,,
