Attrition hits LSU hard, Miles insists otherwise

08:31 AM ET 09.13 | Though the numbers seem to be fairly significant, Les Miles said Wednesday a recent and sudden increase in attrition will not adversely affect the Tigers. Miles, speaking at his weekly post practice press briefing, said despite having lost 12 players since the summer and seeing his roster shrink to 74 scholarship players that "we've got plenty" enough players to move forward. Starting linebacker Tahj Jones was one of four players academically ineligible for the season, a source told the Times Picayune. Miles confirmed they would not play but did not give a reason. ... The attrition is one of the main reasons 13 LSU true freshmen have seen action in the first two games, and the number who redshirt will likely be the lowest in Miles' tenure.

I am thoroughly disgusted that some people actually require student-athletes to attend class and make grades... WTH is this world coming to!!!

While I am not sure that Miles could have done anything about the Mary Jane issue or injuries the academic casualties fall squarely on him. The program should have what is needed in place to make sure kids are going to class and getting the grades they need. More just getting the grades they need than actually going to class. :-)

It's not like they are going to stay long enough to graduate.

Best way to avoid a hang over is never stop drinking.

Just send me a bill and an address to remit to is all it takes. That is a given. Besides, we never use all that money on that board game anyways so it will not be missed.

I shouldn't bi'otch, I have a virtual inventory that is endless, so why even worry about virtual non-payment?

Have another shot, Colonel. :-)
