Oswalt's season in jeopardy as Texas bullpen thins

08:14 AM ET 09.14 | Tanner Scheppers, anyone? If right-hander Yu Darvish has a complete game in him, the Texas Rangers would welcome it on Friday night against Seattle. The bullpen, a strength all season, is springing leaks. Start with the problem of who closes if the Rangers have a late lead against the Mariners. Not closer Joe Nathan. He has worked in three consecutive days and mentioned having a "dead arm," after a blown save in Thursday's loss to Cleveland. Nathan needs at least two days off before returning to the closer role. ... Not right-hander Roy Oswalt. His season is in jeopardy after continued forearm discomfort during a throwing session on Thursday. Possibly right-hander Alexi Ogando, but that will be a tough call for manager Ron Washington.

I am sure that the teams who wee looking at Oswalt and that ten million dollar contract he wanted are glad they all pass on him except TR.

Oswalt looks really jacked up in that photo.

The A's are only 3 games back. That doesn't leave a lot of room for error.

We have 6 against the Angels & 4 against the A's... and 6 against Seattle...

No room for error at all.

Actually 7 against the A's - the last 3 games of the season are @Oakland 10/1 - 3. Definitely need more than a 3 game lead going in to that series.

wiseup Oswalts career in jeopardy. There was a reason no one showed interest in Oewalt. The Reds looked at him early in season the way he pitched against the Reds While with Houston and then Philly.. Fotunately the Reds passed. Wasnt worth what he was asking.

Poor Oswalt it's tough when the end is near!

wiseup: like most players they try to hang on one or two years to long only to pu up sub par numbers to mar what might have been HOF numbers. Hang em up and enjoy retirement.
