Tony Stewart stressing out over sponsorship woes

09:58 AM ET 09.15 | There was news going around the Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet on Friday that Tony Stewart was nearing a deal to get Bass Pro Shops to replace Office Depot as his primary sponsor for 2013. When Stewart heard that, he buried his head in his hands and said he wouldn't comment. Since Office Depot announced two weeks ago that they were not renewing their primary sponsorship for Stewart's No. 14 Chevrolet, Stewart has taken on more stress than he's already had. Earlier in the summer, Stewart also found out that his other driver, Ryan Newman, lost his U.S. Army sponsorship. That's two major sources of revenue that Stewart-Haas needs to replace for next year.

You can bet your south end he is not the only owner/driver frettin' about where the $$ are coming from ... this year, I haven't seen a track that has the seats full ...

Smoke is the reigning Champion and he is having trouble with sponsorship? That is really a bad omen for NASCAR in general. Maybe if the France family would stop bending over backwards for the felon and Chevrolet many long time fans would be less disillusioned with how the series is managed WWF style.

Nascar is dead. The Chase... the COT... no bumping, no driver personalities, praise the sponsor... be politically correct... wave around... lucky dog... Speed TV..

Come on folks fill in the rest.

By the time this season is over Tony will have the sponsors he needs so no worries there. Chase about to start!

Well if you where Bass Pro wouldn't you rather sponser Stewart then Truex, I would think it would be a little better advertisement.

Stewart won't have no problem finding a sponser, the Bass Pro deal was probably suppose to be kept quit till the details where worked out.

Tony will get things sorted out.......as for the Chase this year, no one is a sure thing......the lead will probably change each race.....and that is how it should be,
