08:16 AM ET 09.16 | Owners often overestimate what coaches/managers can do for them, especially in baseball, and that has been painfully obvious with Ozzie Guillen, with several Marlins officials privately expressing immense disappointment about how little positive impact he has made. management not only expected his presence would translate into more wins, but are irked by some of his comments even beyond the Fidel Castro fiasco, including blaming the organization for previously allowing players to delay surgery. "He's throwing blame on areas he doesn't know much about," one Marlins official said. "You look at the personnel he was given. It was good enough to compete for the playoffs. Your job as a manager is to get guys to perform. He couldn't do that with Hanley Ramirez, John Buck or Heath Bell. He was supposed to handle Hanley, and how did that work out? Good managers are supposed to be good motivators. He wasn't much of that this year."

Imagine that upper management is unhappy with the Oz. Just because Hanley and the Oz spoke the same language I guess they thought he could keep him in check- Wrong. They hired Oz because they thought he would bring in folks- Wrong. So how can anyone fell sorry for you Mr. Owner and your over half empty new ball park.

Not surprsing . . . . Ozzie Guillen is a jerk.

Not surprised after watching what happened with the White Sox. One organization underachieving under a manager's watch happens. A second organization underachieving under the same manager's watch is a pattern.

I'm disappointed in their terrible logo.

You can't Motivate people who won't listen and don't want to be motivated!

Hell no. Just because we want to get rid of one doesn't mean we want the other.

The White Sox had a good rotation and went on a nice run in 2005 to win the World Series. It happened with the Cardinals last year. Ozzie got waaaaaay too much credit for that title.

wiseup: I surprised he lasted the season. Guillen's mouth usually gets him in trouble of his own doing. To his credit the last couple of months he has been pretty quiet. Trouble is the new 2/3 empty stadium. It takes a winnig team to fill them

Disappointed in Ozzie?
Then join a long line!

Looks like a hat they found in the discount bin of a dollar store.

The owner needs to look deeper. As in, those " team officials" who recommended him in the first place. Sounds like a lot CYA to me.

Never has a manager gotten so much out of one World Series win. Had he not won that he would have been out of baseball 5 years ago becasue of that attitude.

That's a terrible insult to Dollar Stores. You should be ashamed of yourself.
