09:28 AM ET 09.16 | Clayton Kershaw won't be taking the mound for the Dodgers, who will enter the series finale at Dodger Stadium tied with the Cardinals for the second of two National League wild-card spots. In fact, Kershaw might not take the mound for them again this year. The Dodgers wouldn't comment on the possibility that Kershaw might be forced to have an operation. Don Mattingly sounded as if he was preparing himself to be without the reigning NL Cy Young Award winner for the remainder of the season. The rotation has already lost Chad Billingsley and Ted Lilly to season-ending surgeries. Mattingly said he won't let Kershaw return to the mound if Dr. Bryan Kelly determines there is any chance Kershaw can damage his hip by pitching.

Sucks for my fantasy team.

That's really going to hurt their chances. They've got tough series coming up with the Nats and Reds, you'd hate to face them without their ace.

The Dodgers will NOT make the playoffs this year, with or without Kershaw.

Giants win the West. Braves and Cardinals in the Wild Card game.

The Dodgers after last nights walk off come back win against Cardinals put the two teams tied for the last playoff spot. The Cardinals haven't exactly been tearing up their competion. The Dodgers bullpen has donepretty well inthe later innings and has kept dodgers in position to win. dodgers has had some clutch hits. With only two weeks left, the Dodgers still have a chace to take that last wild card spot from Cardinals.

wiseup : The cardinal also have a series against the Nats and the reds. these are last 2 series of the year. Plus the cardinals still play Dodgers today . 9/16/2012.

The Reds Have been resting Chapman because of arm fatigue. The Reds Should also shut Cueto Down for rest of season. His last three outings he hasnt gotten out of fourth inning. and has looked bad doing so. His breaking ball is breaking down but staying up and in hitting zone. His fast ball has lost some velosity and staying up . In his spot in rotation the reds could use the rookie left hander Tony Cingrani. He has not done all that bad when he has been used in long relief. All 5 starters have pitched all year without missing a spot in rotation. the only exception was pitching Remond in second game of a day night ndouble header caused by a rained out make up game.

Next year is looking good; Billingsly Kershaw Beckett, Lily, and Blanton (or maybe one of the youngsters) looks like a pretty good rotation. I hope they can keep League in the bullpen.

could it be that since these "super stars " aren't producing suddenly come up with injuries. kemp for one vince scully keeps singing the same song, ever since he ran into the wall in colorado, blah, blah, blah. i think the dodgers got took by boston but then, the had to pawn them somewhere. i think kemp is pretty much momma's boy and can't do nothing. well, maybe next yr, maybe. i doubt it though.
