08:04 AM ET 09.17 | In losing by a combined 72-23 in their first two games, the Titans have shown both an inability to stop the run and an inability to gain yards on the ground. It was another long day for Titans running back Chris Johnson, who gained only 17 yards on eight carries against the Chargers in a 38-10 loss on Sunday. He has 21 rushing yards on 19 carries through the first two games. "The run game ain't working," Johnson said. "We just aren't executing the plays. I don't know why we're not." Johnson expressed more frustration after Sunday's loss than he did after the season-opening loss to the Patriots. ... "People need to step up and do their job," Johnson said. "They don't need to let people beat them. It don't matter who the opposing defense is."

He must be talking about himself. 21 yds on 19 carries?? Pedestrian at best.

September 17, 2012  08:09 AM ET

Time for a new nickname....the 2K seems out of place.

Maybe Johnson needs to step up and do a better job......boy ain't done squat since he cried and moaned for that new contract.

That pedestrian is in a wheelchair.

He dedicated the game to his recently passed on great grandmother. He must not have liked her very much.

Haven't seen much from him since he got his big contract....maybe it's time for him to lead by example.

September 17, 2012  08:19 AM ET

It's a slow climb to just 100 yards for this dude.

September 17, 2012  08:22 AM ET

Their not a very Good Team!!!

Chris Palmer's appearance hasn't helped either. Coaching like he was still with the Browns. The o-line has changed a lot over the past 3 seasons. But, CJ still is playing like a guy that doesn't want to take a hit.

not a very Good Team is giving them tooooooo much credit....they are lousy.......Bud Adams has really screwed up this team.....Munch will be on the chopping block after this season....say what you want about Fisher, the team played hard for him....tooo many ???? on this roster to sort out....start over now...defense??? there is no defense....

That's it. Instead of calling your O-line out in front of the media, talk up what the whole team, including you, needs to do better. Pick one or two running plays and run them over and over for 3 or 4 hours until they're perfect.

You don't win games with your mouth.

I hope he's enjoying that contract. He'll never see anything close to that type of money again.

That's usually the hardest decision to make - where to start the reconstruction.

Sounds like the defense is pretty bad...

Used up running back on a team that has been decaying for years.

September 17, 2012  09:05 AM ET

If guys get raises for out-performing their current contract, should they not be docked for under performing?
