08:10 AM ET 09.17 | Mike Miller, for the first time in his tenure with the Miami Heat, may just start a regular season in uniform. After considering retirement during the NBA Finals and then contemplating back surgery at the completion of the Heat's championship run, Miller is up and running and looking forward to the Sept. 29 start of training camp at AmericanAirlines Arena. "I'm feeling pretty good," he said Saturday. Instead of gaining a $2.9 million injury exception for a replacement player, the Heat apparently will have the real thing, with Miller hoping to pick up where he left off, which just happened to be with seven three-pointers in the Game 5 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder that gave the Heat their second championship.

Too bad he will still spend most of his time on the bench anyway with Ray Allen taking his minutes.

The way that dude was moving last year I just knew he was retiring. He will get plenty of rest for that back during the season with the guys Miami has coming off the bench. Be ready for the playoffs shooter.

What's the over and under on how many games Miller misses due to a injury? It won't take long for him to go down with a injury.
But he's got his ring. That's all that matters.

I say he misses at least 29 games due to injury then they save him for the playoffs.

Shooting Guard????
Trust me.....he'll never be a 'guard' again.....ever.
Despite all his effort, he's been essentually a one-dimensional SF......for at least the last 2 years!
I just hope he doesn't cripple himself out there with that bum back. It just ain't worth it!

He missed 27 games last season......I'm gonna say he'll miss at least 35 games in 2012/13.

Exactly.
Really don't know why the heat didn't resign Dorell Wright rather than sign Miller.
Wright is the younger version with more athleticism....can shoot, rebound, steal, handle the ball and can finish an alley hoop!

And back to Pittman...if the heat are disappointed in him, cut the big waste of space and sign Harrellson.
It's not that hard!

The heat will decide between Josh Harrellson or Hassan Whiteside....
Let's hope they cut Pittman to sign 1 of the two...
Whiteside is like a Gladness with a koolaid smile, am not impressed!
Sign Harrellson please Riley!
Cut Pittman now!

They were just showing loyalty to the guy. I don't think he will miss many games this year because, as I said earlier, he won't be playing much anyway with the additions of Allen and Lewis. They are giving Miller one more year, then he will have a cushy front office job waiting for him.

They should have kept Dorell Wright though and not had to sign Miller is what I am saying....

Tho Ray-Ray will get minutes for his offense, Miller is a pretty decent board man as well as a shooter. So they are not completely interchangeable.
