08:21 AM ET 09.17 | Fire up the jet engines. Only hours after the lockout was confirmed Sunday, some members of the NHLPA decided they weren't going to wait to go back to work. ... While Magnitogorsk of the KHL confirmed the signings of Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin and Ottawa's Sergei Gonchar, they weren't the only ones who will ply their trades in Europe for the foreseeable future. Detroit's Pavel Datsyuk, Edmonton's Nail Yakupov, Winnipeg's Alexei Ponikarovsky and New Jersey's Ilya Kovalchuk are all headed for the KHL. Jets goalie Ondrej Pavelec is headed for HC Trinec in the Czech league. ... [Jaromir Jagr] signed with the Czech league's HC Kladno, the team he owns, and he'll have former Habs' teammate Tomas Plekanec there as well. There will be more in the coming days.

The fans will be back and both the owners and the players know that. Fans are sheep, so all this talk about not coming back is hollow. The few fans who actually stick by that will easily be replaced.

Nothing shows solidarity like star/good players leaving to make money while their not so great teammates who make less then half of them sit at home waiting for a paycheck.

The only thing I care about is whether they're flying Aeroflot's Tupolevs. That's all. Oh! And they better take their own AEDs or, at least batteries that work.

and fashion sense ;-) Perhaps next time the Fuhrer wants to gather the flock for big solidarity photo ops he could mention the idea of slacks and shirts with collars?? Flip flops and caps worn sideways may not be the ideal look.
