08:27 AM ET 09.18 | Joe Thornton is headed to Switzerland, after all. [Thornton] confirmed he's returning to Davos, the Swiss city where he not only played during the 2004-05 lockout but also met his future wife. With a place to stay and family probably eager to spend more time with the grandchild, it makes perfect sense. "It was just logical that we'd go back to Davos," Thornton told me. "It [stinks] leaving here, but I've got to play." Eight years ago, Thornton played alongside Rick Nash in Davos, starting the friendship that drove those Nash-to-the-Sharks reports over the past seven or eight months. That didn't happen with Nash joining the New York Rangers instead, but the two will be reunited in Davos.
