08:03 AM ET 09.19 | In the span of a few minutes late Tuesday, the sports landscape in Los Angeles changed, perhaps significantly. In an announcement that rocked Los Angeles political, sports and entertainment communities, the Denver-based Anschutz Company said Tuesday that it has begun the process of selling AEG. ... The move also cast a cloud of uncertainty over plans to return the NFL to the Los Angeles-Orange County market just days before the Los Angeles City Council was expected sign off on a $1.5 billion project to build Farmers Field and overhaul the Los Angeles Convention Center. "Whoever comes in will have to fulfill all the responsibilities and obligations that AEG has agreed to," said Los Angeles City Council member Jan Perry. ... "I don't think this is a setback."

Hasn't the league done fairly well without L.A. anyway??

Just raise taxes to pay for stuff. That always helps.

So like, notice how at the end of the article it says, "I don't think this is a setback." That sorta, maybe, just a little, negates the headline.

Just another politician blowing hot air. Of course it's a set-back.

Yeah. A big-town city council member. You know he's a political hack with a brain like an iron filing. Here's his chance to get some face-time on local media prior to the election.

Yeah I think the NFL has just barely managed to get by without LA....

This is a joke, they keep saying the league NEEDS LA but...they had 2 teams and both bolted so...I think its LA who needs the league. Cali has 3 other teams anyway, LA LA Land is not ideal for football, unless its lingerie football

If anyone knows him and is interested..........Cooper is back.........I talked to him on the NFL Tebow thread from yesterday...........

NFL: No Football in LA.

I'd rather the NFL in OKC (or anyplace but LA).
