08:17 AM ET 09.19 | Considering he's not shy in getting on his teammates after their mistakes, USC quarterback Matt Barkley may have seen Lane Kiffin's harsh comments coming after losing to Stanford. Barkley threw two interceptions against Stanford and Kiffin called the passes, "two of the worst decisions" in their three years together. "I made some poor decisions," Barkley said. "He's going to be real. He's going to defend me when he has to and keep it real when he has to. I'm glad he's not hiding me behind a curtain. I know what I did." Barkley, the Heisman Trophy frontrunner before the game, said he expects to be blamed if the offense struggled. "It's my team and my offense," he said.

So, according to the headline, Barkley want people to criticize him when he bites Kiffin?

He invites criticism. It would be impolite not to oblige.

The starting center (Khalid Holmes) is out for possibly another game or two. Makes a HUGE difference. The new kid at center, Cyrus Hobbi, certainly struggled last Saturday but not all on his shoulder for the beatdown of the offense by the Tree's "D".
STILL ... Shouldn't have been that bad of a showing on the oline. But it WAS a disaster. MB not used to being "beat up" in the backfield. Until Holmes gets back, he'll need to brush up on his scrambling skills. 8-/
We'll see what happens with Cal this weekend.

USC is not a National Championship caliber team this year. They have tremendous skill players (including Barkely) but you can't pass very well from the turf and he will see it a lot the rest of the year if the offensive line coach doesn't some up with some answers...

Barkley appears to be taking the criticism like a man, not a spoiled kid.
He's talented, and has some protection issues with his O line. Coaches have to come up with some scrambling schemes for him and need to improve O line play.
The lack of depth due to scholarship restrictions from the NCAA is beginning to show up. SC has solid skill players, but the O and D lines appear to be thin.

Good point and that is USC's big problem. By not being able to run the ball, has put Barkley in a lot of 2nd and 3rd and long situtions.
