08:29 AM ET 09.19 | Not yet a week old, the lockout has already cost some Florida Panthers staffers their jobs. At least for now. The man who served as Florida's fuzzy mascot Stanley C. Panther was one of about a dozen laid off by the organization, sources told The Miami Herald. Many of those laid off were told they may return once the lockout comes to an end. The layoffs came mostly in arena operations and sales. The Ottawa Senators are the only other NHL team to announce employee terminations this early. Some teams, like Minnesota, will cut back salaries during the work stoppage. "We thank all of those former staff members for their efforts," team president Michael Yormark said in a statement.

see, this is the part where I bith sides need a true dose of reality. These guys, the ticket sellers, the food vendors...they're the ones that are getting screwed the most here. But I guess they don't count.....

never have, never will....season or no season, Nashville is on the hook for $8.6 m to preds owners for arena incentives, games or no games.......what a shame....lot of resentment in Music City over this..going to be worse if lockout drags on.......

It would be "interesting" to know, what the expenses are per game to the owners which do not include the player's salaries...
IE: The working staffs, air fares, hotel bills, food, and the like.
In addition, how much they lose less Player salaries from, concessions, parking, television and so on.
I'd like to see Don Cherry have a show on CBC for an hour each Saturday...I like the guy, besides...without the lock-out, alternatively it would be the Leafs in that spot...and for 2.5 hours.
