08:31 AM ET 09.19 | Ah, to be Peter Lee, who can barely keep up with the phone calls and e-mails. The general manager of the Berlin Eisbaeren (Polar Bears) of the German Elite League estimated Tuesday he has been contacted by agents for more than 30 NHL players who want to ply their trade overseas during the lockout. "There's lots of interest, that's for sure," said Lee, coming off a German league championship last spring. The lockout is entering only Day 4, but the players haven't wasted any time trying to find work and there is a rush for jobs. ... While Sweden has blocked teams from signing locked-out NHLers, Russia, Switzerland and the Czech league are welcoming them with open arms.

I wonder if that is the same Peter Lee who starred for the 67s back in the day... heck of a junior player, never got it going at the pro level however.

It is in fact that Peter Lee. Regarding your comment: He got it going as a pro in the NHL (6 seasons and over 400 games). Moreover, he won 4 Championships in Germany with D??sseldorf in the early 90s and is now the mastermind that build the Eisb??ren Berlin hockey team that won 6 National Titles in the last 8 years in a very competitive german league. So yes, he was a heck of a junior player and is an even better General Manager today.

There was a report that Bettman told the players that if they did not accept the contract, they would be sent to the Russian Front.......

The Swedish Elite league (the top league) is not taking in NHL pro??s, the allsvenskan (one below elite league ) is open for pro??s to join, the elite league is apparently thinking the juniors that gets a chance to play will not if they would take on the pro??s, for the lower division teams it??s a matter of finance the ones with good economy and a big pickup area will get swedish and foreign pro??s mainly to boost spectator numbers.
