NHLPA memo reinforcing player resolve?

08:24 AM ET 09.21 | Keeping a membership informed, at least from its own perspective, is the charge of a union leader, and it seems Donald Fehr is doing just that. Fehr addressed his players on Wednesday by way of a memorandum, providing a status update on negotiations and some details on the specifics proposed by both sides. ... The memo is clear in its presentation and potentially complicated concepts are distilled nicely for player consumption. This is important for a Union that wants to ensure player unity and solidarity. Understanding competing proposals and their impact, may make it more likely that players will stay banded together. This memo is of course only the Union's side of things.

To be sure...but also P.R. 101
Fehr knows that this union will never be mistaken for The Teamsters, and that they need to appear to the public and the owners to be one for all and all for one here.

All the Players are "resolved" too at present is a ridiculous share of revenues that is never gonna happen. Every pay cheque they lose on a lost cause is a stupidity receipt.

So I guess I've never aired my ignorance (at least on this matter) before...the % of HRR the players get, where does that go? They sign contracts for salary, so it doesn't go there. I assume it goes to pension or something.

HRR is a projection the league forecasts for the year. If the league and the players agree on a 50/50 split and the projection is $3 bill the players would be paid $1.5 bil in the form of salaries and benefits. Once the numbers are crunched and if HRR was higher the players would be paid more the opposite be true if HRR was lower then expected. I think that's how it works.

sorry to burst your bubble my friend....I also have to let you know a few other things:
1) No matter what the regular season record, never bet San Jose or Vancouver in the finals, no matter whom they're playing
2) For many good reasons, and for no reason at all, Briak Burke will be Irked regularly
3) Bettman is a vile, evil, horrible little troll
4) Mares eat oats and does eat oats, but little lambs eat ivy
