Dale Earnhardt Jr handles tough family decisions

10:35 AM ET 09.22 | When you own one race team and drive for another, your time tends to fill up quickly. People and demands pull at you. It gets more complicated when some of those people are your relatives. Dale Earnhardt Jr. routinely deals with those burdens. Especially over the past several weeks, when he's had to handle issues that have tested his leadership skills as a NASCAR team owner on both a professional and personal level. First, Earnhardt fired his uncle and JRM competition director Tony Eury Sr. Then, earlier this week, his cousin and Patrick's crew chief Tony Eury Jr. left the team. But given the inner workings of a family business -- as JRM certainly is -- business decisions aren't always able to be made with a cold and objective eye. But that's something Earnhardt has had to do.

With "that driver" goes millions of dollars. Idiot fans seem to forget that. And this sport (if you want to call it that) is far more driven by sponsorship dollars than any other single thing. Besides. as even most idiot fans seem to understand, "that driver" is leaving anyway. To Stewart-Hass Racing. So...Einstein...how, exactly...should he think about "getting rid of" a driver that is already leaving?

True.. 'that driver' is going to the Cup series 'next year'.. as for 'this year' she's driving for JRM.. 'that driver' has wrecked how many cars??.. that ain't the crew chief's fault.. rather have family who knows a little about racing than a bimbo who looks good in a bikini on my race team

Ive learned if you say anything about danica, people hate your guts. Especially on here. I guess Im a idiot too bc she doesnt deserve to be in cup. Its a damn joke. Eury jr couldnt take her anymore. I dont blame him. As far as jr, he is doing a great job as an owner imo.

"That Driver" is one of many many reasons that Nascar is rapidly sinking. Didn't she finish well behind a "who" female last night? In Sprint, she virtually is always the last finisher before the S&P's... in other words LAST!

Jr fires the 2 guys that made him what he is......his raceteam is just a field filler and thats all it will ever mount to. Maybe thats why Truex left him.
