10:06 PM ET 09.23 | It's been over a decade since Mike Tyson bit a piece of Evander Holyfield's ear off in a boxing match and still to this day whenever ears are mentioned in sports, that's the first thing we think of. After today, Texans fans will be calling Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos the Ear Game after quarterback Matt Schaub literally sacrificed a piece of his body leading Houston to their first ever 3-0 start.

No, I saw the hit...........His ear got injured by the inside of his helment, and not because of what the player did. In fact, I questioned the very legitimacy of a foul on the play. The game analysts also were speechless for quite some time tryin to figure out whether or not it was a foul, and at no point did they express a joint conclusion that there was indeed a foul on the play. IMO the Houston players, coaches and Matt don't have a beef.....this is football! It was a good tough play as far as I'm concerned. Houston, take the win and shut up. This was scab officiating at its finest along with the support of the so called safety conscious NFL and its comm. RG!

It was a 100% CLEAN HIT on Schaub, as was the play before which was also flagged. The issue is that players don't strap their helmets on properly, which leads to injury. No idea why the NFL has not yet adopted the NCAA's new rule, no helmet means you are not only removed from the current play, but the next play as well.

No one from the Texans complained about the hit. In fact, Schaub took it like a man and said "I felt fine."
He came out for a play because his head hit the ground hard enough to knock you or I unconscious, but was back in the next play after they cleared him from any signs of a concussion.
