08:27 AM ET 09.24 | In the span of a few years, Denard Robinson has been a backup and hyped for the Heisman, but now he finds himself in a very different place. No one can split a defense quite like [Robinson]. No one can split a fan base quite like him, either. ... He can engineer legendary comebacks in back to back years against one team, then single-handedly cost Michigan against that team the next time out. That's what happened Saturday, when his five turnovers were the biggest reason Michigan lost 13-6 against Notre Dame. And now, some fans are calling for his benching. Just like that. The school's all-time leader in offense. A third-year starter. A captain. Some want him out. Or at least, out at quarterback.

He was great in the old scheme. If you make him throw the ball, beating him doesn't seem so hard to do.

Well, he was RichRod's dude... Hoke was more of a pro-set guy at SDSU and that's probably the direction TSUN will take next year.

Live by Denard, die by Denard. Even in the old scheme, this was true. Against strong defences that didn't give him much running room. he would put the ball up for grabs, or throw it right to the defense. Personally, I don't see much difference this year. All the talk of improved mechanics and read progressions are just that, talk.

OH-IO...GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He has a lot of physical talent, speed, elusiveness, etc. He is not a very good QB. I'm sure someone who trains QBs that is a very good trainer of QBs could point out numerous problems with his technique.

Where are all the scUM fans? Oh, that's right. They lost. Won't see them for awhile.

You have alot to brag about Sparty / trailing to EMU at halftime and being embarrassed by ND on nat'l TV.

With 6 TO's Michigan still had a chance to win that game.

See you October 20.

Robinson isn't polarizing the fans. But it is maddening to see him play such a poor game.

The Michigan O-coordinator should share some of this blame but there is really no explanation for the horrible passes where multiple defenders lay in wait.

It must be panic and not being comfortable with what the coordinator is asking him to do.

I was happy with the improvement of the "D". Thought they mostly played well throughout the game.

As bad as the Big 10 is . . . who knows who's going to win that conference. Michigan has as good a chance as any other team.

When did Michigan have a chance? I must have missed it when we were busy not letting you have the ball in the 4th quarter. I mean your three drives in the 2nd half were cool but I hardly consider you "chance to win" when you were held scoreless till the 13 minute mark of the 4th quarter

5 times inside the 20 with 6 points. Do you think that's not a chance?

ND NOT THAT GOOD.

But neither is any else besides Alabama.

We'll see about Oregon and Stanford. They're possibilities to be good.

He's a RB/WR/KR playing the QB position.
