08:34 AM ET 09.24 | Though the lockout has dimmed the forecast in NHL cities, the future is especially sunny in the Windy City. If Hockey Prospectus is correct, the Blackhawks have a bright future with quality young players. According to Hockey Prospectus' Top 100 Prospects list, five Hawks made the cut and there was a bit of a surprise at the top where 2012 first-round pick Teuvo Teravainen was the highest ranked Chicago prospect at No. 11 overall. Teravainen is believed to possess the offensive skill to be a star in the NHL. Brandon Saad -- who impressed many in the organization last season and earned a spot on the playoff roster when Marian Hossa got injured -- was the second-highest Blackhawk at No. 30 overall. Center Brandon Pirri came in at No. 50.

The Hawks are still reaping the rewards of being a lousy team for so long. Amazing!
