08:11 AM ET 09.25 | On the surface, to many Celtics fans, it seemed as if Rajon Rondo helped push Ray Allen out the door in Boston, a notion with which Doc Rivers doesn't fully agree. "It's just not right to put it all on Rondo," Rivers said. "Ray didn't leave because of Rondo. He left because of Ray. He wanted the ball more. He wanted a bunch of different things. He didn't feel loved. That doesn't make Ray a bad guy." ... [Rivers] was surprised at the number of issues his former golfing partner expressed on his way out the door. "When you have a lot of complaints, you probably need to go somewhere else," Rivers said. "Sometimes guys just run their course at a place. It's probably best for all of us and for Ray that he moves on."

Totally think doc is in fantasy world.Ray is a pro, he can get along with rondo......The reason he left is DOCDoc is the one who kept him on the bench and embarrassed him when he came back from injury. These guys, even 'nice' guys have monster egos.Ray not being given his starting job back is why he went to their biggest current rival

+1

This is Doc trying to convince himself that it's not his fault that Ray left. The Celtics don't realize how much they are going to miss him.

Cmon dude, that's just BS. Doc has to do whatever he thinks is best for the team.
If that means Ray coming off the bench, then he displayed courage by doing exactly that. Ray's skills ARE diminishing, he is SLOW on defense and Avery was doing a fantastic job.

Doc's PRIMARY job is NOT satisfying anyone's egos, but doing what it takes to win. Ray's got the majority of the blame on this (I LOVE Ray). And there's NO question that Rondo is a punk!!!!
