Oklahoma's problem? Switzer says it's talent

08:11 AM ET 09.26 | In the eyes of coach Bob Stoops, Oklahoma is a "tough enough team," but perhaps not "a good enough football team." Barry Switzer agrees completely. Entitlement isn't the Sooners' problem. Discipline, suspensions and dismissals aren't the problem. Play-calling and schematics aren't the problem (though Switzer has an idea or two about that). The problem with the Sooners - they narrowly escaped at UTEP, they tripped up repeatedly against Florida A&M, and they couldn't make a key play when they needed one against Kansas State -- is simple. "They just don't have the talent," Switzer said Monday in a phone interview from his Norman home. ... "We're not as good as we have been," Switzer said.

Guess they are going to bring back the old Switzer bag men to improve the talent level.

If Bill Synder was coaching Oklahoma would he have beaten Kansas State?

To paraphrase....

He would take his'n and beat your'n and then take your'n and beat his'n

I might possibly listen more to Jerry Sandusky making a comment before I listened or believed anything Barry Switzer uttered or said.

LOL, old Barry sure gets ranked on, doesn't he??? IMO, there is nothing wrong with the Sooner. They have a very good coach in Stoops and they will rebound, if not this year then next year.

Agree OT. They had too many off field issues and injuries IMHO. Not to the level of PSU obviously, but still a lot of issues.

Same for TCU. If either has a real good season both Stoops and Patterson will have done a great coaching job.

Let's see. Switzer won how many NC's at OU? He won how many Super Bowls?

What has Stoops won?

So, because Switzer won a NC 27 years ago and a SB 17 years ago, means that he is in touch with today's players and coaches??????

No. Switzer won more than 1 NC. My point for the slow minded was that Stoops has won 1 NC while predicted to win several. He has shown an overwhelming propensity to lose the big game, hence his misnomer nickname.

Yeah Switzer was womanizer that didn't discriminate when it came to his assistant coaches. I'll bet OU supporters would forgive anyone though as long as they produced some of that old glory.
