Do the players have a case for collusion?

08:19 AM ET 09.26 | Canucks goaltender Cory Schneider wasn't so much irked by Jim Devellano's now-infamous "cattle" call, but more by the Detroit exec's take on offer sheets -- namely that "there is an unwritten rule that you don't do that" but some teams don't follow it. [Said Schneider:] "When you make a comment like that [Devellano's], it seems like they [owners] are artificially lowering the market in refusing offers on offer sheets because it's something you don't do. It's not enough to go on just by what he said, but I'm sure the players feel there absolutely is some sort of handshake agreement that you don't make offer sheets. I think you could argue collusion, but until we get proof of it, it's just an off-handed comment."

Anytime you don't get what you want it's collusion. Glad the NHLPA doesn't have players and agents acting in concert. I'm guilty of collusion. I don't think anybody should buy an NHL game ticket this year IF one regular season game is cancelled. NO money for etther side.
Actually I just say that out of frustration. I still feel badly for the folks who are losing their jobs and who need the money to pay their bills.

funny thing....I often wonder why this isn't expored more often.
I always think about when Boras had the guy from Texas Rangers bidding against himself. Is there a bit of caveat emptor here? Sure....but this is somethingthat should be looked into
