With goaltender Anders Lindback reportedly continuing his workouts in Sweden, forward Ryan Malone volunteered to put on goaltending gear to fill the net opposite Mathieu Garon during drills and scrimmages. "I don't mind throwing the pads on once in a while," said Malone, who did it for a practice in Ottawa in the past few seasons, swapping gear with then-goaltender Mike Smith.

I was referencing the fact that being Irish would fill one of the Irked One's prerequisites for obtaining a player like Malone. He needs someone to drown his sorrows with. It might as well be with a fellow Irishman.
