Correia's days numbered in Pittsburgh

08:15 AM ET 09.28 | Kevin Correia's Thursday outing may well wind up being his penultimate pitching performance in Pittsburgh. Correia, who signed a two-year, $8 million contract before the 2011 season, will be a free agent after this year. "I do know he's going to want to find a spot where he can get in the rotation and pitch every fifth day," manager Clint Hurdle said. ... When asked if the Pirates would like Correia to return, Hurdle said: "There's a lot about Kevin to like. I'll leave it at that. You got to have interest on both sides, or it's a moot point." The Pirates will enter the 2013 season with uncertainty in their rotation even in the unlikely event Correia decides to re-sign with them. Aside from Rodriguez and A.J. Burnett, the team has holes.

Check out the Bucs...

Being choosy about bringing a guy back...

Used to be they'd take anyone who wanted to come to Pitt... Pitching well was not as important a factor :-)

I really thought this was this year that the Buc's would get off the schnide. Too bad...

He did win 10 Games!

He has a career ERA of four and a half. A 23-22 record with Pittsburgh over the past 2 years, ERA above 4 both times. His best years were as a long reliever with the Giants. Sounds like he wants to start, and the Pirates aren't interested in seeing any more starts from him. Best of luck with your next team!
