07:23 PM ET 09.29 | Games that see their scores breach the 70 point threshold are nothing new, we see it all the time. A team gets into a battle and won't give up until they score a ton of points and have 3 overtime's under their belts. But something we rarely see is two big conference schools getting into a shootout of insane proportions in just 4 quarters. Mountaineers quarterback Geno Smith continued his surprise Heisman campaign by throwing for 8 touchdowns and almost 700 yards through the air to boost his team past the Baylor Bears.

At least we know Geno has no chance for a Heisman. With a defense that allows 63 against Baylor (at home), WVU is looking at some big thumpings when they actually face a team that doesn't suck. I'm sure they eventually play one this year, but we're still waiting.

He's impressive, and accurate down field, but their D gave up 581 passing yrds, kind of a push.

Color me unimpressed. The Mounties are lucky they ducked us. If Baylor can put up 63 on 'em, we may have scored 100 or more...and I'm PRETTY sure our D could have held WVU to under 70.

The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire.... Because there is a couch on the roof.

But 63 pts for Baylor does suggest Texas, OU, OkSU, or TCU will beat WVU.

well they put up over 400 yds against lus last year and geno does appear to be able to sling it, but still i believe that when they get into the meat of theyre schedule i believe, (cant believe im saying this)
texas, ok state, tcu are going to be much more formidable defenses, i think those stats will come down somewhat but still that was one heck of a great job any way you look at it...

Baylor was #25 ranked. Both defenses were horrible, but Smith had a completion rate of c. 90%. That's really extraordinary and would be if he were playing against the Little Sisters of the Poor. At least, the next games will be competitive.
