Torn ligaments for Locker?

08:04 AM ET 10.01 | About the only bit of good Titans news coming out of Houston was Chris Johnson's rushing for 141 yards, but the lowlights were many, beginning with quarterback Jake Locker. [Locker] is hurting, his troublesome left shoulder again the issue after taking a violent hit. ... Indications are Locker dislocated the shoulder and had to have it popped back into place. He came back from the locker room in street clothes, his left arm in a sling. The second-year pro suffered the same injury in the season opener against the Patriots, but has continued to play while wearing a harness underneath his uniform. This time Locker is believed to have torn ligaments, but he was scheduled to undergo an MRI in Nashville on Monday.

Having had one, I feel sorry for the kid if it's a torn rotator cuff.
They are lucky to have Hasselbeck. They'd really be up a creek if they had to rely on a backup like Sanchez or somebody.

Me too DD! Tore it playing football my sophomore year in HS. Now I have to break up the scar tissue everyday by rotating it over and over for about 5 mins....and that was almost 20 years ago! Thats gonna suck for Jakey later on..

I did mine skiing, in my late 40s. I did a lot of physical therapy, breaking up the scar tissue starting a week post-op. The shoulder is fine now - no extra work needed, but I do give it some big spins before every hockey game.

OK does that mean he can't throw the ball anymore with torn ligaments? LOL

It's not his throwing arm. But it could certainly limit his ability to take snaps and hold on to the ball.

Throwing shoulder or not, it still needs to be healthy to play QB.
If your right handed and you break your left arm and have it in a cast and sling try to do things with your right arm only that takes two arms, throwing a football takes two arms and both shoulders.

Mine doesn't lock up, ever. It doesn't get stiff, or sore. (My shoulder, that is.) It was my right shoulder that got hurt, and even now, 18 years later, I still sleep mostly on my left side. I don't take any painkillers.
I had the job done by a team of "bring 'em back alive" orthopedic surgeons, who had a reputation of getting guys back into the game. In my case, the game is hockey, and these same surgeons used to play with us. They did a good job. I was good with my physical therapy, not slacking off, going to all my appointments and doing my home exercises as well.
