Why Greinke's not going back to Milwaukee

08:11 AM ET 10.01 | With 2012 drawing to a close, Brewers manager Ron Roenicke opened up on Sunday about the club's starting rotation candidates for 2013. As for adding a veteran to the staff, Roenicke said, "Who's out there is important. I don't think we're going to sign a guy for five years and $120 million. But if there is a veteran out there that Doug and his crew likes and that we've heard and seen good things about, I'm sure he's going to look at everything." In other words, don't look for the Brewers to make another run at Zack Greinke, who turned down an extension offer of more than $100 million before he was traded to the Angels. "We made him a great offer," said Roenicke."We'll see how much he likes it in Anaheim."

Zack will get his cash in Halo land because it looks like they might let Haren walk which would free up plenty of money if it happens.

Sounds like Roenicke is a little bitter about Greinke not signing his great offer.
I suspect Greinke likes pitching in a big park like Anaheim much better than pitching in a hitter's park like Milwaukee, but that doesn't mean the Angels will have enough money available to sign him.

this guy is so overrated. 120mil for what? This guy is not one of the 10% best picthers in baseball, maybe one of the best 25% but he's certainly not in that catagory of being one of the best of the best.

He's a former Cy Young award winner with a sub 3.50 era, over 200 innings pitched, 200 Ks, 20 quality starts and a 15-5 record. He's a good pitcher with the potential to repeat his dominating CY Young season. I don't think there are any teams that wouldn't like to have him on their staff--maybe they all wouldn't want to pay over $100 mil, but they would otherwise take him.
