USC mum on possibly critical injury

08:13 AM ET 10.01 | USC center Khaled Holmes clearly takes direction well, revealing little on Sunday about the ankle he appeared to reinjure against Cal on Sept. 22. "I feel great," Holmes said, smiling. "Beautiful day." Whether Holmes plays at Utah on Thursday remains to be seen. Per school policy, media are not allowed to report how many reps players take during practice. Holmes had a brace on his ankle as he exited the field. Holmes' absence proved critical in USC's lone loss, at Stanford on Sept. 15. "That position's so valuable for anybody," USC coach Lane Kiffin said. "But our guy's so smart and does so many things, you sometimes forget about all the stuff that he does -- until he wasn't there. Then you really notice it."

True FJJ. Some only heal through rest and inactivity over a long period of time.

Maybe you all can fill me in, using English and /or Spanish how every time USC wins, they either stay put or drop in the rankings, but the Luckeyes put in a stinker of a win and leapfrog the Trojans.
