'Melo giving up high-scoring ways

08:09 AM ET 10.02 | Coming off an Olympic gold medal this past summer, Carmelo Anthony said he wants to be a more all-around player, hoping that scoring less means winning more. Anthony no longer wants to be counted on to score 35-to-40 points a night and is willing to defer more to Knicks teammate Amar'e Stoudemire, especially now that he has developed a newfangled post game. ... [Said Anthony:] "I'm done trying to score 35, 40 points to win the basketball game. I don't want that role anymore. I can do it. That's what I do. But in order for this team to be successful, for guys we have right now, we need a more well-rounded team. If I have to sacrifice on the offensive end, I'm willing to do it."

There will be a story tomorrow saying he needs to score 35 points in order for the Knicks to win.

It's going to be interesting to see how long this mentality last.

QUOTE(#8):

Apple won't like this. This should be a good thing but he will be pissed because Stat will probably get the ball sometimes now... Anyways, Melo is saying the right thing now but will it happen on the court. Will he trust his teammates?

Hopefully his teammates prove to be trustworthy.

NOOOOOOOOOO Melo your an offensive genius bro do your thing! Ok ok maybe just look to put up 30 a night I can understand not going for 35 or 40. Stat is nothing without a quality point guard and Im not sure how much Kidd has left.

"Newfangled post game"? I don't like the sound of that.
