Lions left guard Rob Sims said the team needs to return to its us-against-the-world mentality. Wide receiver Nate Burleson thinks the Lions needs to be angry again. With high expectations come increased pressure, and so far the 1-3 Lions have cracked under the added burden. "I think we were just out there trying to be perfect," Sims said. "We've just got to go do what we do, and that's 11 guys out there just being reckless. And when we do that, we're hard to beat." ... "We need to play with that violent passion that we had last year and the year before, so this is good for us," Burleson said. "It's early enough in the season where I could say that."

They need a new coach! Talent-wise, they have it in O, D and ST. This team can be as good as Atlanta or Houston.

At the start of the season I would have agreed about the talent level, but there is definitely missing pieces. Their D-line is not dominating, their 0-line is letting Stafford get beat up, their secondary is giving up plays and their special teams got torched by the Vikings. That's a pretty big failure across a lot of fronts.

The early season success the Lions had last year has gone to their heads. In two weeks they have allowed four special teams touchdowns. There is plenty of time for them to wake up and realize you have to show up and play each week because they cannot slip up on any one anymore.

They certainly didn't last year with all those come from behind victories especially those road wins against Minnesota, Dallas and Oakland and that come from behind victory against St. Lois this year. What the Lions lack is discipline and basic football fundamentals.
