Early trade candidate: Kevin Martin

08:11 AM ET 10.03 | Among plenty of players with something to prove this season is Houston's Kevin Martin. The Rockets are clearly rebuilding and they already have their replacement for Martin on the roster in Jeremy Lamb. It's unlikely that Martin has a future in Houston, which means he'll use this contract year to showcase his talent and audition for his next job. Don't be surprised if Martin is traded at midseason since he's a $12,939,675 ending deal and the Rockets will want to free up minutes for their younger players. Martin has put up impressive stats throughout his career, but his numbers haven't translated into wins or postseason appearances. An impressive season and success with a playoff team after a midseason trade would help his stock entering free agency.

Kmart Jr. is much younger than Kmart Sr., but Jr. can help most any team thats not looking for a number 1 or 2. These Kmarts are good player and effective at what they do.

Now on to Houston's desired interest in rebuilding around Jeremy Love, well I gotta surprise fa they ass....Jeremy Love is gonna be a short lived experience. He is not goin to pan out them. Jeremy Love will by exposed as the fraud he is by the first 3rd of the season....bank on it, then what?..........

He is an AI-lite. He scores but inconsistently. Can't really rely on him to be your #1 or 2. Probably a great 6th man.

Hardly an "AI-Lite." He couldn't hold AIs jock in his prime.

Martin is a scorer, good player and he could really help several teamsBut I think none of us know what Houstons management is truly doing

Maybe "lotteryizing" the team for the next few years.

With the new franchise player in Jeremy Lin they have to free up shots on the perimeter so KMart becomes expendable... Houston is a thinking team!

True.....but he'll still be 30 years old before the end of the season.

Still.....I'd like to see the Bulls make a play for him!! They can send Rip Hamilton to the D-League (LOL) ;-) .

Zing!
LMAO!
+3,000.
He is a light skin Joe Johnson, score score score, and more score.
At least he is tougher whereas he actually scores in the paint, JJ, however not so much, thank goodness he has D Will to now bail him out.
Kev could be an asset to many teams: bulls, cavs, magic & jazz.....
Question now is do any of those teams have anything that the rockets want in return.....
